This was fantastic, love the colors and aesthetic. Really vibrant even for the darker parts. Animation and backgrounds look great. I thought the gag was pretty good too.
Nothing really stands out to me as bad, the only minor criticism I might make is that the horror movie music is a little overused, but at the same time it works fine here so it isn't really bothersome.
Great job man, can't wait to see your next thing.
Hey, thanks for the kind words. More stuff is on the way!
Damn it, Alex.
On a review-ish note, drawings mostly looked good, what animation there was was nice, and some of the intentionally rough stuff was funny, although I think there was a bit more of it than I'd prefer personally.
Great stuff as always. I love the whole aesthetic, and it was awesome seeing something with such substantial length and plot from you. I thought the stock footage was a nice touch to the humor, likewise with the stock photo of Mr P Dawgy when he hits the button.
I don't have any big criticisms. The "flipping" of the characters as flat planes isn't to my tastes but it probably fits fine with the limited animation look you have. The lines on the hand when P Dawgy points with his thumb to the button seem a little less polished than the rest of the cartoon, likewise with the doors when Simon bursts into the room with the gun. The shot with the gun also seems like it might have benefited from a little more elaborate animation.
Fantastic overall though; backgrounds, characters, and voice acting are all really fun to see/hear. Looking forward to your next cartoon.
Thanks so much! I appreciate your feedback. This was an idea I had for awhile so its great to finally have it out there. I would love to have more longer and plot heavy cartoons in the future. time is always the issue but it pays off I think.
yes! all the stuff you pointed out it, I would like to say it was to pay tribute to the limitations the original Peabody & Sherman had but it was honestly just laziness and me just wanting to finish the project. ha! And speaking of being lazy I was originally going to animate Hitler as an adult but I was to lazy to draw another character so the stock footage was a last minute decision, which turned out to be better than I expected!
thanks again for your comment!
Absolutely love this! I found the gameplay fun and the art is awesome for just 72 hours. Hope to see more stuff from you in the future.
I like it. I think it looks pretty solid in a technical sense.
Obviously you weren't going for real polished anatomy so that's not worth criticizing, but it has a nice, fleshy sense of form even so. If I was to nit-pick, I would say maybe try and keep the quality of the hatching lines a bit more consistent. The variation in thickness and angle seems a little haphazard at some points, but it's not really that noticeable. What I think is more worth noting is that the leg on the left probably ought to have more shading on it. The positioning is probably fine, but there probably wouldn't be so much light on it from that angle, and the fact that the legs are almost equally illuminated makes the perspective feel off. The left-most toe on that foot also forms a little bit of a tangent with the vomit-mass thing, which adds to the sense that the leg might be out of place.
Again, these are all pretty minor things I had to look at it kind of carefully to pick out; as a whole I think it's pretty successful. Keep it up friendo.
Sweet dude! I will look out for that stuff next time i mess with hatching and shit. Also it's fine if you nitpick cause I prefer to know how to make things better the next time I do things similar to this and what's wrong with it rather than getting a pat on the back and told "good job". I prefer the criticism honestly c:
